GPBA Scholars is the Gramercy Park Block Association’s program of scholarships and mentoring for students in need. Its published community-service account describes support for students in the neighborhood and through Neighbors Helping Neighbors partner organizations.
2023
A first year of dance study
The August 2023 summer letter supplied a specific example of the scholarship program: a full scholarship for Oona Smith’s 2023–2024 study at New York Theatre Ballet School. The account described her first year of dance study and the encouragement that regular classes could offer.
That summer, neighbors also contributed clothing for Project LIFT.

2005
Earlier educational gifts
The annual record for 2005 includes an educational scholarship-fund donation and, later that year, educational support for the daughter of an NYPD detective. It also records a contribution to the Police Officer Moira Smith Scholarship Fund.
