Information you choose to provide

You may provide information when you email or call the Block Association, subscribe to our newsletters, make a contribution through a linked giving service, or otherwise contact the organization. Depending on the interaction, this may include your name, contact information, message, subscription preferences and contribution information.

Information collected through the website

The services used to host and protect the website may collect limited technical information, such as an internet address, browser type, device information, requested pages and diagnostic or security data. The Block Association uses this information to operate, secure and improve the website.

How information is used

• To respond to questions, neighborhood concerns and requests.

The Block Association relies on service providers for functions such as website hosting, email subscriptions and contribution processing. This website also links to outside websites whose practices the Block Association does not control.

The Block Association does not sell or rent personal information. Information may be shared with service providers acting for the Block Association, when you direct or authorize the sharing, or when disclosure is reasonably required by law, security or the protection of rights.

Your choices

You may unsubscribe from newsletters using the link in any email. You may also contact the Block Association to ask about information you have provided or to request a correction or deletion, subject to legal and recordkeeping requirements.

Data security and retention

The Block Association uses reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the information it handles. No website or transmission method is completely secure. Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here and for applicable legal or organizational records.

Children

This website is intended for a general audience and is not designed to collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Information connected with a gift

Information associated with a contribution may include a donor’s name, contact information, gift amount, date, designation or notes, and information needed for acknowledgment and recordkeeping. Online payment details are handled by the service used to process the contribution; the Block Association does not receive full payment-card numbers through this website.

How donor information is used

The Block Association uses donor information to process and acknowledge gifts, maintain required financial records, respond to questions, communicate about the impact of support, and meet legal obligations.

Our commitments

• The Block Association does not sell, rent or trade donor information.
• The Block Association does not share donor lists with other organizations for their independent marketing or fundraising.
• The Block Association limits access to donor information to people and service providers who need it for legitimate organizational purposes.
• The Block Association will honor reasonable requests for anonymity in public donor recognition.

Service providers and required disclosures

Information may be provided to payment processors, mailing or technology providers, professional advisers and other service providers working on the Block Association’s behalf. It may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect the organization, its donors or others.

Annual financial report

A copy of our latest annual financial report may be obtained, upon request, from the Gramercy Park Block Association at 34 Gramercy Park East, New York, NY 10003, or from the New York State Attorney General’s Charities Bureau, 28 Liberty Street, 15th Floor, New York, NY 10005, or online at www.charitiesnys.com. Information about charities may also be obtained by calling the Attorney General’s office at (212) 416-8401.

Our approach

We aim to provide clear structure, readable text, keyboard-accessible navigation, descriptive alternatives for meaningful images, visible focus states and layouts that adapt across screen sizes and text settings. Accessibility is an ongoing part of maintaining and improving the website.

Historical material and outside services

The site includes historical photographs, scanned documents and archive material created in many formats over many years. Some older items may not yet be fully accessible. Newsletter signup, donation processing and linked outside websites are operated by third parties and may have their own accessibility features and limitations.

Informational purpose

This website provides information about the Block Association, Gramercy history, neighborhood conditions and community activities. Content is offered for general informational purposes and is not legal, financial, tax, medical or other professional advice.

Accuracy and current conditions

The Block Association works to keep information useful and accurate, but neighborhood conditions, schedules, agency guidance, outside links and historical interpretations can change. The Block Association does not guarantee that every item is complete, current or error-free. Time-sensitive notices should be confirmed with the responsible agency or organization.

Park governance and access

The Block Association is separate from the Trustees of Gramercy Park. The Trustees govern and care for the Park itself, including access. Nothing on this website grants or represents a right of entry to the Park.

Archive material

Historical letters, photographs, scans and accounts may reflect the language, information and circumstances of the time in which they were created. Captions and contextual notes are provided where useful, but archival material should be understood as part of the historical record.

Copyright and permitted use

Unless otherwise credited, website text and presentation are owned by or used with permission of the Block Association. You may link to public pages and make reasonable personal, educational or noncommercial use with attribution. Separate permission may be required to reproduce photographs, artwork, scans or material credited to another owner.

Acceptable use

You may not attempt to interfere with the website, gain unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, scrape it in a manner that impairs service, or use its content in a deceptive or unlawful way.

Links to outside resources are provided for convenience and context. The Block Association does not control and is not responsible for their content, availability, security, accessibility or privacy practices.

Changes and governing law
