In February 2016, the Gramercy Park Block Association shared a Project Cicero book drive organized through the Brotherhood Synagogue’s Social Action Committee. The notice described books for kindergarten through high school, intended for under-resourced schools.
The appeal identified student Lansing Clark’s involvement in the collection. It belongs to a broader archive of neighborhood children sorting books, gathering supplies and learning to contribute through practical service.
Project Cicero had its own educational purpose and organizing partners. The Block Association’s newsletter helped bring the collection to neighbors’ attention.
