In July 2013, Arlene Harrison testified before the Landmarks Preservation Commission in support of restoring the porch and stoop at 5 Gramercy Park West. She spoke on behalf of both the Gramercy Park Block Association and the Trustees of Gramercy Park.
The testimony described an 1843 townhouse whose porch had been removed in the 1920s. Reverend Thomas Pike’s contribution emphasized the relationship between the row houses’ cast-iron porches and the Park fence.
