The Gramercy Park Block Association’s summer report recorded new and refurbished litter receptacles placed on corners throughout the community. It also reported that trees planted in previously empty tree gardens that year were thriving.

Arlene thanked the people keeping the surroundings cared for through the heat: the Trustees’ Park caretaker, Amando Flores, and the Block Association’s Clean Team member Saliou Diop.

The Block Association had sponsored a clothing drive for Project LIFT and awarded a full dance scholarship for the 2023–2024 school year. These contributions continued the neighborhood’s longstanding support for New York Theatre Ballet’s program.

The letter also recorded an event honoring Assistant Chief Gin Yee on his retirement. It recalled his leadership during September 11 and the relationship formed when Gramercy neighbors supported Emergency Service Truck 1 during the recovery effort.
