An August 11, 2008 letter reported a meeting between the Gramercy Park Block Association and DOT Manhattan Borough Commissioner Margaret Forgione, in consultation with Community Board 6. The letter said residents’ emails and suggested solutions had informed the discussion.
Measures under consideration included No Honking signs, removing a small number of parking spaces on Gramercy Park North and examining longer green time for westbound East 21st Street traffic at Park Avenue South. The letter also described further work with the police on truck enforcement.
DOT planned a ninety-day study of a signal or stop sign at Gramercy Park North and West. The Block Association expected to continue evaluating conditions with the agency.

Following pedestrian improvements nearby
In June 2014, the Block Association shared DOT’s response about Third Avenue at East 22nd Street. The agency reported installing LOOK pavement markings and pedestrian countdown signals at the intersection.
DOT also described a reduction in traffic lanes as a possibility under study for 2015. The Block Association shared the agency’s response with neighbors.
