In October 2013, the Gramercy Park Block Association reported repeated complaints about hazardous potholes. The Block Association was in regular contact with the Department of Transportation as work proceeded on East 20th and East 21st Streets between Park Avenue South and Third Avenue.
The Block Association also requested repaving on Gramercy Park East and West. The October account reported agreement on the need, with construction conflicts delaying that portion. A March 2014 update confirmed the north and south streets had been repaved the previous fall and announced milling on the remaining approaches.
The March plan covered Gramercy Park East, Gramercy Park West, Lexington Avenue between the Park and East 23rd Street, and Irving Place. On April 21, the Block Association reported that the work had reached its final repaving phase.
