The Gramercy Park Block Association’s July 2018 newsletter reported an attempted theft of the historic district plaque on the south-side Park fence. Its update from the Trustees of Gramercy Park described the work needed to put the damaged plaque back in place.

The report describes Gabriel Popian’s work to repair the fittings, clean and refinish the surface, polish the lettering and reinstall the plaque with additional securing measures.
