The Gramercy Park Block Association’s December 2017 newsletter introduced Fox House and its director, Sister Florence Speth. The account described a shelter established in 1989, serving families referred by New York City’s Department of Homeless Services.
Fox House received toys through the Block Association’s holiday collections, including the drive at Paddy Maguire’s Ale House. Published accounts show Sister Florence collecting clothing and toys and describe a direct donation presented by Arlene Harrison.
The shelter appears again in the Block Association’s 2018 Giving Tuesday record.
