Construction Update: 38 Gramercy Park
August 2026 · The structure rises
Dear Neighbors,
We want to share the latest update we have received from the development team at 38 Gramercy Park, where the building structure is now steadily rising above street level.
Rising Toward the Sixth Floor
According to the developer, concrete placement is now complete through a portion of the sixth floor. The project is currently averaging approximately one floor per week, and the team continues to refine its operations with the goal of improving efficiency as construction progresses.
Construction Hoist Now Operational
The project’s temporary construction hoist has completed all required testing and inspections and is now fully operational, in accordance with the approved drawings and applicable code requirements — an important milestone in supporting the building’s continued vertical progress.
At the Street Level
Supporting activities at the street and site level — including material deliveries, concrete operations, and utility coordination — will continue as work advances. The developer reports that public protection and adjacent-property protection measures remain in place and continue to be routinely inspected and maintained throughout construction.
The Block Association continues to keep a close watch on street-level conditions around the project on behalf of our neighbors — including proactively raising sanitation and rodent concerns directly with the development team — and we will continue to bring any issues to their attention promptly as they arise.
Looking Ahead
In the coming weeks, the team anticipates beginning installation of masonry block around the building perimeter. The project is also scheduled to receive its main electrical switchgear — another significant milestone as construction transitions into its next phase.
The development team has expressed its appreciation for the neighborhood’s continued cooperation as work progresses. We will continue to stay in close communication with the project team and share updates with the community as they become available.
Warmest regards,
Arlene Harrison
