As spring turned to summer, the Gramercy Park Block Association’s Clean Team repaired and repainted iron tree-garden fences, mended litter receptacles and removed graffiti from lampposts, signposts and parking meters. These are the small, repeated tasks that make a difference on an everyday walk.
The work took place on the public streetscape outside the fence. The annual Neighborhood Refresh brought that attention to fixtures that had weathered another winter.
The same newsletter reported on the separate work of the Trustees’ caretaking team: restoration of the East and West gates, the Ruggles Fountain’s return to working order, bench repairs, fresh window boxes and care for the gardener’s cottage.
The June letter thanked both teams for the pride they took in their work. The result was visible across the neighborhood: cared-for fixtures on the streets and a renewed landscape within the Park.
