Construction Notice: Gramercy Park Hotel
August 2026 · What to expect on Tuesday
Dear Neighbors,
The Gramercy Park Hotel’s construction team has notified us of a one-day crane and concrete operation taking place this coming Tuesday, August 25, on Lexington Avenue in front of the Hotel. The scheduling was just confirmed by the New York City Department of Transportation, and the team reached out in advance and asked for our help in notifying the neighborhood so that everyone has time to plan.
A One-Day Operation on Lexington Avenue
On Tuesday, a crane will be positioned on Lexington Avenue directly in front of the Hotel entrance at Two Lexington Avenue, with a concrete truck stationed beside it to support concrete placement at the top of the building as the Hotel’s restoration continues.
The Schedule for the Day
According to the construction team, work is expected to proceed as follows:
7:00 AM
Crane and pump truck arrive onsite
9:00 AM
Concrete pump setup complete; concrete deliveries begin
4:00 PM
Concrete pumping and placement expected to conclude
6:00 PM
Trucks removed; Lexington Avenue clear
Keeping Sidewalks and Traffic Moving
Throughout the day, the work plan will maintain a minimum 5-foot pedestrian path on the sidewalks and an 11-foot travel lane for vehicles, in accordance with DOT requirements, and flag persons will be onsite to help manage traffic and pedestrian movement.
Even with these measures in place, neighbors should expect some congestion and construction noise along Lexington Avenue between East 22nd Street and Gramercy Park North during working hours. If you are expecting deliveries, car service, or other curbside activity on that stretch on Tuesday, you may want to plan around the schedule above.
