The Hotel’s construction team informed the Gramercy Park Block Association of a one-day crane and concrete operation outside Two Lexington Avenue. The Block Association shared the planned August 25 schedule with residents after the team reported that coordination with the Department of Transportation had been confirmed.
The plan called for a crane outside the Hotel entrance and a concrete truck beside it to support work at the top of the building. Trucks were expected to arrive at 7 a.m., with concrete placement finishing in the afternoon and vehicles removed by 6 p.m.
The team said the work plan would maintain a pedestrian path and a vehicle travel lane, with flag persons managing movement. The newsletter warned of congestion and construction noise and encouraged neighbors arranging deliveries or car service to plan accordingly.
An advance notice does not remove a disruption, but it helps people prepare. The Block Association’s role was to convey the team’s plan promptly and provide a channel for updates if the schedule changed.
