Two trees taken down on Gramercy Park South
Yesterday a truck traveling in the parking lane on the Park side of Gramercy Park South struck a tree, damaging it severely and causing it to lean into the street.
The parking lane is currently being used for traffic since the construction at 23 Gramercy Park South blocks the usual driving lane.
For safety reasons the NYPD roped off the street, and made an emergency call to the Parks Department, who came immediately and took down the tree.
While on site, the Parks Department and the NYPD determined that a second tree directly across from the 23GPS construction site was leaning, endangered the flow of traffic in the parking lane, and for safety reasons also needed to be taken down.
