Trustees of Gramercy Park begin gravel replacement project in the Park

The Trustees of Gramercy Park will begin a gravel replacement project in the Park on Monday, May 5 (weather permitting). It should take approximately 1 week.  We are replacing the current gravel with a finer quality of washed gravel in various shades of neutral tones, which will enhance the Park's aesthetics.

The Park will remain open during the work, however, since there will be trucks and large equipment in the Park, certain gates may be padlocked in areas where equipment is in use. Sections will also be yellow taped as work zones, and for your safety we ask you to please avoid these areas.

Projection Description
Existing gravel will be removed and disposed of so it doesn't bleed through the new gravel. The ground surface will be graded to promote drainage and eliminate puddling of water on the paths and in the park center. The surface will then be top dressed with a 2 1/2" of 3/8" washed gravel.
